Portland is a city of fountains. Due to the regular chlorination of these fountains, children (and parents) are encouraged to take a dip. There are no "Keep Out of the Fountain" signs in this city.
Park Place entrance to Washington Park.

The Pittock Mansion was owned by a prominent Portland family whose ancestors helped to establish the city and founded the Oregonian newspaper. It is located just 5 minutes from Downtown. The mansion is now a museum which is open to the public, and is available for private parties. Each Christmas it is expertly decorated with themes from a different country.
Portland has many beautiful viewpoints. Here is the view of Downtown Portland and the east side of the Willamette River from the Pittock Mansion.
