(Les Aucoin is a local politician.)

Outdoor summer concerts are held at the zoo showcasing blue grass, jazz, blues, country music, and even dance troupes visiting from other countries.
The Zoo Train runs throughout the park giving visitors access to the Zoo, the Rose Gardens, the Japanese Garden, the Forestry Center, the new Children's Museum, public tennis courts, and beautiful picnic areas.

Just outside the zoo is the new Washington Park "Les Aucoin" transit station. Portland has an innovative transit system known as "MAX." Visitors can park at any local Park & Ride and take the train to the attractions in the park, thus avoiding traffic and parking problems.
A "MAX" train on the go.
